Ex Forces Support

Published: 20 November 2019

We provide a range of services aimed at raising awareness of the issues faced by older and ex-members of the Armed Forces and enabling them to lead fuller lives. Covering North Yorkshire, the service is funded by the Aged Veterans Fund at the Ministry of Defence using LIBOR funds.

We are committed to contributing to and widening the existing support available for older veterans across the County.  We do this by providing person-centred, practical, financial and holistic support, including:We are committed to contributing to and widening the existing support available for older veterans across the County.  We do this by providing person-centred, practical, financial and holistic support, including:

Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire is a consortium led by Community First Yorkshire, and made up of the following organisations: Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington, Age UK Scarborough & District, Carers Resource, Citizens Advice, Groundwork, Just the Job Environmental Enterprise, North Yorkshire Sport, North Yorkshire Youth, Richmond Community Voluntary Action (RCVA), Richmondshire District Council, Rural Arts, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Scarborough Borough Council, Yorkshire Energy Doctor, Yorkshire Housing.

We also engage with other partners, including North Yorkshire County Council’s Living Well team and SAFFA North Yorkshire.
