Bus Service changes
Published: 07 August 2020
I am writing to advise you of changes we are making to the above bus services from 7 September 2020, following feedback from passengers and to better reflect usage of the service.
Service 77 Wetherby – Tadcaster is replaced by the new service 492.
Service 492 Wetherby- Tadcaster – Sherburn in Elmet.
· All journeys now follow the same route serving more communities on each journey and making the timetable easier to understand.
· The last journey from Tadcaster to Sherburn in Elmet departs at 1615.hours. The current 17.35 carries on average 2 passengers a day and often carries no passengers. This falls below the limit where the authority would normally offer financial support.
· In order to amend the route to serve most communities, the village of Towton is no longer served. On most journeys no-one uses the service in Towton, on average less than 2 passengers board in Towton in a week.
Please note the usage figures were recorded before February 2020 and do not reflect changes in use owing to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Please note that owing to the current social distancing guidelines, on school days the journeys in red will be available to passengers travelling to and from Sherburn High School only. These journeys will be opened to the general public when they can be operated within the guidelines.
Owing to social distancing guidelines the number of passengers that can be carried on each journey is reduced and face coverings should be worn whilst on the bus.
